Frauenchor LandauThe Female Choir Frauenchor Landau e.V. has been conducted by Michael Hilschmann since 2005 and is predominantly dedicated to secular and sacred choral music of the Romantic and modern eras. Highlights include the participation in the festival “Kultursommer” of Rhineland-Palatinate with a premiere of a work of Prof. Alfred Koerppen and in the festival “Fugger-Musik” in Augsburg, the singing in a Pontifical Mass in Trier and a TV appearance in the channel SWR.
The choir was founded in 1980 by Werner Weiß, and in 1998 won the first prize in the 5 th German Choral Competition in Regensburg for a "brilliant interpretation of a contemporary work".
